The New Mexico Diabetes Advisory Council represents individuals and groups across New Mexico trying to reduce the burden of diabetes on individuals, families, communities, the health care system, and the state.
Our mission is to provide and advocate for culturally-sensitive professional development for the multidisciplinary health care professional community in order to improve the quality of diabetes prevention and care in New Mexico.
Each year, we coordinate a series of professional development sessions with a diabetes focus targeted to representatives from clinics, pueblos, tribes, educational institutions, and other partners across the state, including:
- Dietitians, Nutritionists
- Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants
- Promotoras, Community Health Workers
- Health Educators, Fitness Technicians
- Social Workers
- Pharmacists, PharmDs
- Physicians
We are a membership organization that thrives on the involvement and contributions of our members from across New Mexico who are making a difference in the lives of those with diabetes.
